Afrin Liberation Forces carry out new retaliatory attacks against pro-Turkish mercenaries

The Efrîn Liberation Forces carried out new retaliatory attacks against pro-Turkish mercenaries in the occupied zone of Northern Syria. The actions resulted in several deaths and injuries.

The Efrîn Liberation Forces (Hêzên Rizgariya Efrînê, HRE) continue to carry out attacks against Turkish-backed mercenaries in Northern Syria. In retaliatory attacks in the occupied zone in recent days, two mercenaries loyal to Turkey were killed and others injured, the resistance group said in a statement on Saturday.

The attacks took place on 23 and 24 July. According to the HRE, the first retaliatory strike on Tuesday took place in the small town of Marea (Marê), north of Aleppo. A sniper from the formation was deployed.

Later in the day, the group also struck in Şêrawa. According to HRE, four mercenaries were injured in the attack in an unspecified region in the district southeast of the shattered canton of Afrin. Another sniper attack with one death took place on Wednesday in Azaz, as a video of the action shows.

Who are the HRE?

The Hêzên Rizgariya Efrînê (HRE) were founded in 2018 after the occupation of Afrin by Turkey. With the aim of liberating the region from the occupiers, the resistance group carries out targeted attacks against the invading troops.
