Afrin residents, who were forced to move to Shehba due to the attacks carried out by the occupying Turkish state and their mercenary allies, continue their resistance.  

The resistance is part of the second phase of what has been called the ‘Resistance of the Age’. The people of Afrin are living in camps and houses in ruins, yet they insist that their resistance will continue until they are finally able to return to their lands.

Welîd Bekir told ANHA that for 58 days they resisted against the attacks launched by the invaders. They have resisted against their tanks, guns and warplanes, he said, adding: “Despite all difficulties we are continuing our resistance here in Shehba camps. Our greatest hope is to liberate Afrin and go back home.”

Mûna Bîlal, another citizen from Afrin, had this to say: “We resisted the heavy weapons and warplanes of NATO's second largest army. The occupation attacks against Afrin were the result of an international conspiracy. We have made this conspiracy fail through our resistance.”

Erîfe Bîlal said: “The Turkish state attacked us with 72 warplanes and destroyed our houses. But we have resisted the attacks and continue to resist. We are resisting in Shehba to be able to return to Afrin.”

A young man, called Ehmed Hiso said: “Turkey is carrying out a genocidal policy against the peoples of these regions. It wants to destroy Kurdish culture and identity. We will protect our identity and culture as Kurdish youth.”

Henîfe Elûş said: “We saw how the Turkish state aircraft attacked us brutally. I lost many of my friends.”
