Afrin residents protest the demographic changed imposed by Turkey in the region

Hundreds of Afrin residents protested the demographic change imposed by Turkey in the region with a march.

The Afrin Yazidi Union organized a march to protest the demographic change imposed by the Turkish state in the region. During the march, activists called on international human rights and legal institutions to take responsibility.

Hundreds of people from Afrin, who gathered in the Market Square in Til Rifet, marched with photos of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and the martyrs of the Epochal Resistance.

The march, where slogans condemning the Turkish state were chanted, continued along the busy streets in Til Rifet.

Speaking at the march, Afrin Yazidi Union co-chair, Sûad Hiso, said: “The crimes committed by the Turkish state and its mercenaries could not prevent the resistance of the people of Afrin. The people continued their resistance in the camps and in the destroyed houses. We will continue the resistance until the occupied lands are liberated."

Noting that the Turkish state is trying to impose a demographic change in the territories it occupied, Sad said that thousands of people were deliberately forced to migrate. Sûad also condemned the silence of international law institutions for the crimes committed by the Turkish state and its mercenaries in Afrin.
