The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are continuing their operations against ISIS mercenaries who are cornered in a narrow area in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria. SDF Media Center official Mustafa Bali spoke to the ANF on the latest developments in Deir ez-Zor.
Bali stated that it is not right for ISIS to be seen as a military organization alone, and added; “ISIS is currently experiencing its last days militarily but it is necessary to achieve a political solution in Syria in order for ISIS to be completely defeated.”
Bali noted that the ISIS mercenaries consider Turkey as their own territory, and said: “According to information we have obtained, ISIS members are being smuggled into Turkey, from there they go to Europe.”
Referring to the situation of the captive ISIS mercenaries, Bali said: “An international court and prisons must be established in Rojava in order to prosecute ISIS mercenaries and their families. The mercenaries currently under arrest have relationships with several countries.”
