Thousands of people from the Fırat (Euphrates) Region joined the farewell ceremony for ANHA reporter Dilishan Ibish, SDF fighter Umran Isa (Filistini) and YPG fighter Ethem Şexo (Alan Ararat) in the Martyr Dijla Cemetery of Martyrs to the south Kobanê.
Dozens of journalists from different media institutions in various areas of the Fırat and Cizire regions were present in the farewell ceremony, alongside institution members of the Kobanê Canton.
Speaking at the farewell ceremony, YPJ commander Fidan Kobanê reiterated the promise of continuing the struggle and continued: “We bow down with respect in front of the memory of Martyr Dilishan, who followed the Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor campaigns with her camera. We give the promise that we will take revenge for her and fulfil her hopes.”
Ebû Elî Rîfayî, who spoke for the Manbij Military Council, reiterated the promise of following the paths of the martyrs and saluted the resistance of the fighters of the SDF/YPG/YPJ and the Manbij Military Council.
Administration member of the Free Press Union, Stêrk Gulo also spoke and expressed condolences to the family and friends of Martyr Dilishan. Gulo continued: “Dilishan took her place at the resistance fronts, at the frontlines next to the freedom fighters. She was telling the whole world the truth with her pen and camera.”
At the end of her speech, Gulo gave Martyr Dilishan’s family the promise that her camera and pen will not be left on the ground at the same place Ronahi TV reporter Martyr Mustafa was bid farewell.
With the end of speeches, the martyrdom documents of journalist Dilishan Ibish, SDF fighter Umran Isa and YPG fighter Ethem Şexo was read and handed over to their families. The ID information of YJA Star guerrilla Ronahî Stêrk and YPG fighter Rûstem Cûdî was announced and their martyrdom documents were also handed over to their families.
The martyrs were buried at the end of the ceremony with the accompaniment of slogans.
