The people of North and East Syria continue to get credit for their resistance against the invading Turkish state, which has been trying hard and resorting to any means possible for the last 10 years to displace the local people and occupy their lands.
Although the Turkish state sought to break the resistance of the people through heavy and large-scale attacks at the end of November, the people did not abandon their lands but sided with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
Speaking to ANHA, Samir Hebaq, Co-Chair of the Circassian Association, said: “The people of the region have been putting up outstanding resistance against Turkey’s attacks and threats against North and East Syria.”
Hebaq pointed out that the invading Turkish army continued to shell North and East Syria, targeting the Kurds, Arabs, Circassians and Turkmen without exception. He continued: “Following the escalation of the Turkish attacks, the people organized themselves based on revolutionary people's war and made their voices heard throughout the world with their resistance.”
Hebaq stressed that they liberated their lands from ISIS, the biggest terrorist organization, vowing to continue their resistance in the same way.
‘WE WILL STAND BY OUR FORCES AGAINST THE ENEMY’
Şêx Fehîd Şilaş, one of the notables of the Beni Seîd tribe in Manbij, remarked that the invading Turkish state carried out large-scale attacks against North and East Syria, making up lame excuses to revive the Ottoman empire.
Şilaş remarked that the notables of the Arab tribes in Manbij would ally with the SDF not only in Manbij but also in other parts.
Şilaş concluded: “We will develop our solidarity with the Manbij Military Council and continue our struggle based on the principle of legitimate defence. We are not aggressors, but we will stand up to those who attempt to invade our lands, no matter who they are.”
