Armed assault kills Deir ez-Zor Legislative Assembly Co-chair
Deir ez-Zor Legislative Assembly Co-chair Merwan El Fetih lost his life in an armed assault.
Deir ez-Zor Legislative Assembly Co-chair Merwan El Fetih was assaulted by a group on the Heseke-Deir ez-Zor road. El Fetih lost his life on site and his bodyguard was wounded.
El Fetih’s bodyguard is receiving treatment in a hospital in Heseke and is reportedly in good condition.
Merwan El Fetih, one of the founders of the Deir ez-Zor Civilian Council, was appointed the Deir ez-Zor Legislative Assembly Co-chair in early 2018.
