Attack in Manbij claims the lives of two children

An attack with an explosive device attached to a vehicle killed a ten-year-old in Manbij on Wednesday and injured twelve other people. A twelve-year-old has succumbed to his serious injuries today.

An attack in Manbij in the autonomous region of North and East Syria on Wednesday killed a ten-year-old boy instantly and injured twelve other people aged between twelve and fifty, some of them seriously. According to hospital sources, a twelve-year-old boy has today succumbed to the serious injuries he sustained in the attack.

The attack with an explosive device, which was attached to the vehicle of a traffic police employee in the city centre of Manbij, occurred yesterday shortly before the breaking of the fast in the central neighborhood of Al-Sarb, when many people were doing their Ramadan shopping. Rescue workers rushed to the scene and retrieved the victims, including two women and three members of the Internal Security Forces (Asayîş), to various hospitals. Six of the injured have since been discharged.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
