Two unidentified people on a motorcycle approached the two YPG fighters on watch duty on Basil Dam. The attackers refused to stop despite warnings from the YPG fighters and opened fire on them.

As a result of the attack, YPG fighter Ali Muhammed Casim was seriously wounded. The attackers fled the scene. Casim was hospitalized where he is receiving treatment and YPG forces are searching for the attackers whose descriptions are known.
