Autonomous Administration implements new partial lockdown

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria is increasing measures in its attempt to contain the spread of the coronavirus epidemic.

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued a partial curfew for 7 days starting on Friday and lasting to May 6th. The lockdown will be in force between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.

The Co-Presidency of Executive Council in North and East Syria put the order no. 122 on lockdown into effect on Thursday. The executive order content is as follows:

“The Executive Council of Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria decided on these orders to prevent contagion of coronavirus pandemic:

1-A 7-day partial lockdown has been decided for all regions of North and East Syria. The lockdown to remain in effect from 30 April 2021 to 6 May 2021 will start at 7 p.m. and end at 07 a.m.

2-All of border gates affiliated to Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria will open only for emergency cases, humanitarian aid, students and trade activity.

3-All facilities for wedding, funeral, meeting and religious activities will be closed along the lockdown.

4-Schools, kindergartens, universities and institutes will be closed.

5-Restaurants, café and art centers will be closed. Restaurants will only be allowed to take-away.

6-All citizens must obey the precautions and wear mask.

7-The decision is binding for everyone.”

According to latest data, a total of 15,796 coronavirus cases have been registered in the region. While 571 of those infected have died, 1,606 have recovered.
