Autonomous Administration marks third anniversary of its establishment

Three years ago, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria was proclaimed in Ain Issa. On the occasion of its founding day, the Autonomous Administration said that its grassroots democratic and multi-ethnic system is a model for all Syria.

On September 6, 2018, the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria was proclaimed in Ain Issa. Since then, the Autonomous Administration has been responsible for implementing the model of democratic confederalism in the municipalities and regions in North-East Syria.

The Autonomous Administration released a statement on its founding day, vowing to continue their democratic, political and social struggle until a peaceful, democratic Syria that represents the will of all Syrians is established.

The statement released on Monday said:

“The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria is a national project that started with efforts to build social will in Syria 3 years ago.

The Autonomous Administration has played a significant historic role in the fight against terrorism, in establishing a single model without harming the unity of Syria and in representing the will of millions.

The Autonomous Administration has been fighting for three years to meet the expectations of the people of the region. Moreover, it has played an important role in the fight against terrorism and offered a genuine democratic model in Syria without compromising with its territorial and social integrity.”

The Autonomous Administration's struggle to find a democratic solution that represents the diversity in Syria continues. It has carried out diplomatic and political efforts to realize a realistic representation of the various components in North and East Syria.”

The statement pointed out that the Autonomous Administration has a positive impact on the overall situation in Syria, despite the fact that numerous economic obstacles are placed in its way and the Turkish state is using a variety of methods to try to crush the grassroots democratic system.

The statement urged the people of the region to support the Autonomous Administration and its security institutions, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Internal Security Forces, service and social institutions, and to be a partner in this democratic experience.

“We will continue our democratic and political struggle to achieve a peaceful and democratic Syria that represents the will of all Syrians and to liberate all occupied lands. We will work and eliminate the shortcomings of the first two years in order to maintain and develop this pioneering model. We are reiterating our promise to liberate occupied areas such as Afrin, Girê Spî and Serêkaniyê,” the statement concluded.
