The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria has announced that the lockdown declared as part of the pandemic restrictions is extended for another 10 days.The lockdown will be applied between 19.00 in the evening and 07.00 in the morning as of Friday.
According to latest data, a total of 16,319 coronavirus cases have been registered in the region. While 636 of those infected have died, 1,673 have recovered.
The Autonomous Administration said the following in a statement published on Wednesday:
“The lockdown has been extended for 10 days in all of North and East Syria. The lockdown will start on May 7 and will end on May 16, to be in effect from 19:00 in the evening to 07:00 in the morning.
All institutions in North and East Syria will be closed. Students, patients, business activities and humanitarian situations will be exempted.
All meeting places (feast, condolence tents, meeting, prayer) will be closed during the curfew.
All schools, universities, academies and kindergartens will be closed.
Coffeehouses and vegetable markets will be closed. There will be takeaway services in restaurants.
Citizens should maintain their social distance, wear their masks and fulfill the requirements of self-protection.
The lockdown applies to all."
