Autonomous Administration deputy co-chair, Bedran Çiya Kurd, attended the meeting organized by the PYD in Bern.
Çiya Kurd said that the Autonomous Administration has gone through a historical process and added: "While important work is being carried out to recognize the Autonomous Administration, the Turkish state intensifies its attacks. Therefore, I can state that we are going through a historical process. No one can deny the reality of the Autonomous Administration. It is not possible to solve the Syrian crisis without the Autonomous Administration. The reason for the prolongation of the Syrian crisis is foreign interventions. Syria could have solved this problem on its own. The calculations and interests of foreign powers prevent the crisis from being resolved."
Stating that the peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria have paid a great price for the security of the peoples of the world, Çiya Kurd added: "The peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria have paid a great price in the fight against ISIS. They destroyed ISIS and made the world a safer place. Since this situation does not please the Turkish state, it attacks the region in a brutal way. The international community is indebted to the peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria. For this, they must stand against the violent policy of the Turkish state and fulfil their debt of loyalty to the peoples of the region."
Pointing out that a part of Syria is under Turkish occupation, Bedran Çiya Kurd said: "Everyone is aware of the situation in Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî occupied by the Turkish state. The situation of the occupied territories is directly related to the future of Syria. Therefore, the occupied lands must be liberated. This is an issue that should be constantly on the agenda of the international community. The Turkish state is changing the demographic structure in the region. Our only goal is to establish an atmosphere of peace and security in Northern and Eastern Syria. This is at the center of all our diplomatic work."
