Brother of PYD executive arrested in Hewler urges the KDP to release the three politicians

Nezhet Osman Xelîl, brother of PYD executive Mistefa Osman Xelîl, who was detained by the KDP, said: "The KDP is responsible for what happened to my brother."

There has been no news for 46 days about the Autonomous Administration Hewler representative Cihad Hesen and PYD members Mistefa Osman Xelîl and Mistefa Ezîz Mistê, who were detained by KDP forces at Hewler Airport on 10 June.

Nezhet Osman Xelîl, brother of Mistefa Osman Xelîl, one of the detained politicians, said that the KDP was responsible for his brother's fate and demanded an explanation about his whereabouts.

Nezhet Osman Xelîl told ANHA: “My brother has not committed any crime. He went to Hewler Airport to meet his guest. Hewler Asayish [local forces] detained him. We haven't heard from him since the day he was detained. We call on the South Kurdistan government to explain what happened to my brother.”

Nezhet Osman Xelîl reminded that his brother Mistefa is involved in diplomatic work, and added: "It is not possible to accept what the KDP has done against those working in a legal political office in South Kurdistan. We are watching with astonishment the condescending attitude of the KDP towards those fighting against the Kurdish people.”

Calling once again on the KDP, Nezhet Xelîl said: "It is not democratic to kidnap a Kurdish brother and not inform his family about his fate. In the sensitive process that the Kurdish people are going through, these actions serve those who want to divide the Kurdish people. This event ignites disintegration among the Kurdish people. This must end.”
