Occupation forces continue committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Turkish-occupied regions of North-East Syria.
Local sources report that the Turkish-backed mercenaries have abducted a civilian from the village of Hiweca southest of the occupied Gire Spi (Tal Abyad) city. The man, named Salih Şibli, was accused of “having connections with the SDF”.
Sources say that the man was brutally tortured and killed two days ago.
According to reports, many from the Şibli family were kidnapped during the occupation of the city by the Turkish army and allied jhadist mercenaries. The family was forced to migration and their house was destroyed.
Since the Turkish state launched its genocidal campaign to occupy Rojava and North-East Syria on 9 October 2019, hundreds of civilians have been murdered as a result of bombardments, abductions and executions. War crimes such as kidnapping, looting, seizing local people’s properties and torture have become part of the daily life in the occupied territory.
