Communes in the city of Hesekê, Northern Syria started a clean-up campaign with the support of the Municipality. The decision on this campaign was taken at a meeting of co-chairs of the communes in Hesekê a few days ago.
Hundreds of citizens are cleaning the streets in their neighborhoods while garbage trucks of the Municipality drive around to take the collected rubbish.
Co-chairpersons and executives of the communes said that with this campaign they want to cleanse the whole city and that it is necessary for all people to get used to the cleaning of the city and the streets.
Minewer Zavê said, "Our goal is to keep the city clean with this campaign. In addition, we want to involve all parts of society in the city's purification and thus get used to cleanliness."
Local residents told that this collective work by the communes was a truly beneficial step.
