Cizire Region Youth and Sports Committee organised a demonstration in protest at Turkish attacks and invasion threats against North and East Syria.
The march was joined by 21 sports clubs and representatives of the non-governmental organisations in Cizire Region.
The march kicked off from the 12 March Stadium and continued to the UN representation office. Banners carried by protesters read “We reject Turkish state’s threats” and “No to invasion”.
Cizire Region Sports Union Co-chair Muwefq Ehmed read the press statement on behalf of the demonstrators. Ehmed made a call to international forces and the United Nations for the elimination of the threat posed by the Turkish state against North and East Syria.
Recalling that the children of the region saved the whole world from the danger of ISIS gangs, Ehmed added; “For this cause, more than 11 thousand young people fell as martyrs and over 21 thousand were wounded.”
Demonstrators emphasised that the peoples in North and East Syria regions did not constitute a threat for any neighboring country, and that, on the contrary the Turkish state was a threat for the entire region.
