The Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Jazira Region met with Cihad Hesen, who was detained by the KDP, released after 112 days in custody and expelled from Bashur Kurdistan.
Hesen was received by Ebdulkerim Omer, co-chair of the Foreign Relations Department, and Talet Yunis, co-chair of the Executive Council of the Jazira Region Democratic Autonomous Administration, at the Executive Council building in Amude.
Talet Yunis, who said that the Autonomous Administration has taken action since the day Cihad Hesen was kidnapped, on 10 June, noted that despite all efforts, they could not hear from Hesen for a long time. Condemning the KDP's stance, Yunis said: "What the KDP does is against international law. These attitudes and behaviours need to be reviewed as soon as possible.”
Cihad Hesen, who thanked the Autonomous Administration Executive Council, also mentioned that he was subjected to psychological torture for 112 days. Expressing that he was happy to be in Northern and Eastern Syria, Cihad Hesen emphasized that he is honoured to serve for the Autonomous Administration and that he does not regret anything he has done.
