The Democratic Society Academy Centre was opened in Kobanê on Thursday.

The opening ceremony saw the participation of many civil society invitation authorities.

The opening speech was delivered by Mihemed Sahin, a member of the Democratic Society Academy in the Euphrates region.

Sahin stated that the opening of the Academy was yet another contribution to the education and training of the community in the region.

Kobanê Autonomous Council co-chair, Anwar Muslim, confirmed the opening of the Academy was an important achievement.

The Academy will have the task to promote and spread Democratic autonomy’s values and principles as well as rising the level of consciousness among people.

The first Democratic Society Academy was opened with a ceremony in al-Kebir, in Deir Ez-zor district on 25 June.
