Speaking about the period of the Kobanê war, YPJ fighter Dilovan Kobanê said that the wounded fighters who were treated in Urfa wanted to go to Kobanê to fight again as soon as they opened their eyes.
As a result of the invasion attack by the Turkish state-backed ISIS mercenaries, a magnificent resistance took place in Kobanê in 2014. YPJ fighter Dilovan Kobanê shared her memories of the fighters who were injured during the resistance.
Dilovan Kobanê, who is also from Kobanê, said: "In addition to being known for his resistance, Leader Öcalan also stayed in this city. The Turkish state used ISIS mercenaries to carry out brutal attacks on Kobanê. YPG and YPJ fighters responded with a great resistance, thus fulfilling the promise of victory they had made both to the people and Leader Öcalan.”
Injured fighters wanted to return to Kobanê immediately
Dilovan Kobanê had to cross from Raqqa to North Kurdistan during the intense war. She wanted to join the resistance but could not find a way. She said that they migrated from Raqqa to Bakur (North Kurdistan) because of the intense war and added: “YPG-YPJ fighters injured in Kobanê were being brought to Bakur for treatment. That's when I witnessed the resistance of the wounded fighters. These men and women were wounded in Kobanê and were being treated in hospitals in Urfa. But in some places where YPJ-YPG fighters stayed, ISIS members were also treated. The fighters saw this cooperation and wanted to get back to their resistance positions as soon as possible. The fighters wanted to return to Kobanê as soon as they opened their eyes. I was amazed by their resilience. I witnessed how strong and determined they were. That's when I decided to join in too."
Doctors were also amazed
Dilovan Kobanê, who joined the YPJ forces after witnessing the strength and will of the fighters, continued as follows: “After joining the resistance, I realized what a great truth the militants of Rêber Apo are. They resist, they never forget their promises. I witnessed these during the Kobanê war. As soon as the warriors opened their eyes, wounded again, they went to the resistance positions. The doctors who treated the injured friends were surprised and very impressed by this situation. They were asking, 'How can they still stand, how can they live with so many wounds?"
