People from Afrin living in the Serdem and Bexweden camps spoke to ANHA news agency about their life and expectations to return to their city.

Cemil Hemo from the village of Şitka (Mabeta) said that they were forced to leave their houses following the heavy attacks by the Turkish state and its mercenary allies. “We will not leave our lands to the invaders. - he said - We are continuing our resistance in these camps”.

Hemo thanked the Shehba communes for helping the refugees despite their limited resources.

Another citizen named Mihemed Hesen from the village of Gemrok said: "After we left Afrin, we started to live in the camps. They helped us as we were in a very difficult situation. The camp organisers have provided us with all kinds of support facilities”.

Hesen called on international aid and human rights organisations for help.

Xelil Ebdo is from the village of Dika in Rajo. He said that the communes of the region helped them and provided the facilities and support they could despite having limited resources.

Ebdo asked the People's Council to deliver some medicines, especially for insect bites.

Cefer Sileman, from the Ashrafiyah district of Afrin, reminded that they had received little or no help from the international community and underlined that only the communes in the region were responding to the refugees’ many needs.
