The Turkish state and its mercenary allies wanted to destroy the history, culture and language of the people of Afrin.
In their invasion attacks they did not spare neither cultural and artistic centres nor historical sites and schools.
The people of Afrin were forced to leave their houses and came to Shehba. Once here, despite all difficulties, they decided that, among with their basic needs was also keeping the link with their language and culture.
Therefore they opened a new culture and art centre in Shehba where music music and folklore groups began to be set up and act.
Culture and Arts Council, with the support of the Association of Artists, opened an editing and recording studio at Serdem Camp.
Mesud Kirad, one of the executives of the Cultural and Art Council at Serdem Camp, said that the invasion of the Turkish army aimed at destroying the culture and language of the people of Afrin.
“We will not give in to the occupiers, - he said - because we are bound to our language and culture.
After coming to Shehba region, we continued our resistance within the frame of the second stage. We set up songs and folklore groups here. At the same time we train new groups to participate in actions for the liberation of Afrin liberation”.
Masud Kirad said that a week ago the Culture and Art Council started preparations to open an editing and recording studio in the region with the support of artists.
"This is the first of a series of new steps we are going to take in Serdem Camp”.
The preparatory work ended this week and we have equipped the studio with the technical material needed, despite all difficulties”.
