Eqîde Eli Osman laid to rest

The 53 years old woman fell martyr in the Turkish state attack on a civilian convoy heading to Serêkaniyê on Sunday.

Eqîde Eli Osman (Eqîde Anne) was buried today, accompanied by thousands of people in Girkê Legê.

The coffin was taken from Qamishlo Hospital by Girkê Legê Martyr Families Association.

The 53 years old woman fell martyr in the Turkish state attack on a civilian convoy heading to Serêkaniyê on Sunday. The attack resulted in 11 dead and 74 wounded.

A car convoy accompanied the coffin of Eqîde Elî who was shouldered by local people.

Protesting the occupation of the Turkish state and chanting slogans, the people headed towards the house of Martyr Egid. Later, Eqîde Eli Osman's coffin was left at Dêrik Hospital.

A patriot and fighter

Eqîde Eli Osman was known for her patriotism in Girkê Legê, got involved with the Kurdish Freedom Movement in 1980.

Eqîde Eli Osman, who was actively involved in the struggle, had been arrested by the Syrian regime. Yekitiya Star (later Kongreya Star) executive member, she fell martyr on 13 October when the invading Turkish army and its mercenaries struck the civilian convoy she was traveling with.

Eqîde Elî Osman is also known for having wore black clothes since the arrest of President Abdullah Öcalan to the day of her martyrdom.
