Families defend what has been achieved by Martyrs

The relatives of the martyrs of Kobanê expressed their view on the threats and said that the Turkish state's threats were aimed at spreading fear.

Turkish President Erdoğan has been threatening to invade Northern and Eastern Syria for some time.

The peoples of the region are sending a strong message against these threats through their actions of resistance.

The relatives of the martyrs of Kobanê expressed their view on the threats and said that the Turkish state's threats were aimed at spreading fear.

Temra Dîmo, a mother whose son is among the martyrs of the revolution in Northern and Eastern Syria, said that Erdoğan's aim was to stir the crisis in the region. She said that Turkey is attempting to destroy the democratic nation project, adding that “the people will never bow nor accept the Turkish state occupation.”

Emîna Xelîl whose husband fell a martyr in the liberation struggle said that Erdoğan and his mercenaries were guilty of inhumane practices against all civilians, especially women, in Afrin, and that they tried to change the demographic structure in the region.

Emîna Xelîl continued: “We will not allow Erdoğan to carry out massacres in our regions. We will protect our lands watered by the martyrs' blood.”

This land, said Zahîde Osman, mother of a martyr, “is the land of the Syrian peoples. It is our most natural right to defend our co-existence from any danger.”

Reminding that the policies of assimilation and demography change are still carried out in Afrin, Osman said: “The ancient people of Afrin had to leave their homes because of the brutality of the mercenaries.”

Emel Mustafa, whose husband fell a martyr, said that Erdoğan has declared his desire to destroy and occupy these lands, like he did in Afrin. The people of the region, she said, should respond to these threats by standing together.
