Qamishlo Council of Martyrs’ Families condemned the KDP’s deadly attack against guerrillas in Xelifan, saying, “Through its betrayal, the KDP tries to save Erdogan.”
In a written statement published yesterday, the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) Press Center announced that of the seven guerrilla fighters who were ambushed by the KDP in Xelîfan northeast of Hewlêr (Erbil) in late August, five were martyred. One HPG member was apparently captured injured, and another guerrilla survived.
The Qamishlo Council of Martyrs’ Families paid tribute to Nesrin Temir, a commander of YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops), who became immortal in the deadly attack by the KDP.
Reading the press statement in the name of the Council of Martyrs’ Families, Mehsum Hesen extended his condolences to the families of all martyrs and pointed out that Kurdish young people are martyred at the hands of the KDP at a time when the Kurds are waging a great struggle to achieve historic gains.
Expressing that the ambush in Xelifan is not the first and the KDP martyred tens of guerrillas before, Mehsum Hesen continued, “Through its betrayal, the KDP tries to save Erdogan, basing its own existence on the existence of Erdogan.”
Mehsum Hesen called on the people of South Kurdistan and democratic parties not to remain silent against such tendencies of the KDP.
