Farewell is bid to 14 of the 20 YPG/YPJ fighters who were martyred in the Turkish attack on Rojava's Qereçox area on April 25 night.

The massive funeral ceremony at Xebat Dêrik Cemetery of Martyrs in Dêrik city is attended by thousands of civilians as well as military and political officials of Rojava.

Speaking at the ceremony, YPJ commander Sozdar Dêrik said the followings:

“This attack has strengthened our determination for struggle. We state once again that those claiming to be supporting YPG-YPJ must manifest a clear stance. We will follow the struggle of our fallen comrades and we promise them that we will raise their flag everywhere. Şehîd Namirin [Martyrs are immortal].

Speaking after, YPG commander Hesen Qamişlo offered condolences to the Kurdish people, stressing that: “We are in a very fragile process. We are fighting savage gangs. This brutal attack of the Turkish state was carried out with the cooperation of betrayers. These attacks will not go unanswered. Freedom fighters are bringing the gangs to an end as they move towards Raqqa. The Turkish state has provided support to the ISIS gangs by attacking Qereçox. No matter how much we are attacked, our resistance will never be broken.”

Hesen Qamişlo called on international powers to manifest a clear stance against this attack, saying; "The international coalition forces that express support with the YPG-YPJ, the U.S. in the first place, should make their stance against this attack clear. The battle given here is a struggle of honour. We draw our strength from our people and martyrs. Our fight against terror will never stop."

Hesen Qamişlo reiterated their promise to follow the struggle of martyrs.

Following speeches, the martyrs were laid to rest.
