Forest fires continue in Izmir and Manisa

The forest fire that broke out in the wooded area between Kuyucak in Izmir’s Menderes district and Orhanlı in Seferihisar district is continuing into its third day. In Manisa, forest fires that started in two different locations are also ongoing.

The fire in Izmir began at midday on June 29. Fanned by the wind, the fire has grown, and efforts to contain it by air and land are continuing.

Due to the fire, the Atatürk and Cumhuriyet neighborhoods and four villages were evacuated.

According to reports, 21 people affected by the smoke received outpatient treatment in hospitals.

Many houses have become uninhabitable in the fires, which are continuing into their third day.

MANISA

In Manisa’s Akhisar district, the forest fire that started on June 28 has entered its fourth day and is still ongoing.

Additionally, the forest fires that broke out on June 30 in the Ahmetli and Kula districts have spread further due to the wind. Firefighting efforts are underway by both air and land.
