Ismail Ali Ismail, a former peshmerga and KDP executive, said that the KDP is friendly with the enemy, even though it knows that its people will be harmed, and said that the Parliament, government and people should stop the Turkish invasion.
Ismail Ali Ismail became a member of the KDP in 1986, and worked as an executive in the KDP affiliated institutions. He took a stand against the KDP's Rojava policy and tried to cross into Rojava Kurdistan in 2019. Since he was not allowed, he reached Rojava illegally.
‘They will find you’
Stating that the Turkish state's attack on South Kurdistan is in fact an occupation attack, the former KDP executive said: "When you declared an independence referendum, the Turkish state, which you called a friend, turned against you. It called on Iraq to stand up to you and intervene. Now you know that your people will suffer. But, despite that, you have become the friend of your enemy. This is very wrong. The Turkish state is not only the enemy of the people of South Kurdistan, it is the enemy of the entire Kurdish people. The Kurdish people and the peoples of the world know that the Turkish state is an occupying state. The South Kurdish people do not want the Turkish state."
Ali said that the Kurdistan Parliament consists of 5 parties and added that they should take responsibility to prevent this war. "Revolutionaries and patriots all over Kurdistan, doctors, imams, workers, all are saying together ‘Enough of the South Kurdish government cooperation with the enemy’. If Erdogan occupies South Kurdistan, he will not leave them in the government."
'The Turkish state is not a friend'
Ismail Ali Ismail reacted to the KDP's support of the Turkish state against the Kurdish forces, and said: "The enemy is neither your friend. You know that Turkey is doing what is doing exclusively for its own benefit. Those who fight against Turkey are your brothers and are with you. When ISIS came, who was by your side? Who did you call for help? Who was there for you? It was your brothers. The thing we feel most pain about is the KDP giving coordinates to the enemy. This is shameful. You say, give the enemy coordinates and shoot them [the guerrillas] from the air. Your brothers were fighting alongside you against ISIS."
'Let’s not waste this opportunity'
Calling on the peoples of Kurdistan to be united against the enemy, former KDP executive Ismail added: "I hope and beg the South Kurdistan administration and the Parliament to stand up and reject this invasion. The Kurdish revolution is growing and spreading all over the world. Let's not repeat the situation lived in the past. All the people of Kurdistan must stand against the enemy and unite in order to preserve what we have achieved."
