Four Turkish-backed mercenaries killed and eight injured 

HRE forces continue to carry out operations against the Turkish army and their jihadist gangs in Afrin and its vicinity.

Afrin Liberation Forces issued a statement announcing the details of a series of actions against mercenaries in Afrin.

The statement said that 4 mercenaries were killed and eight injured.

The full statement reads: "Our forces continue to carry out operations against the Turkish army and their jihadist gangs in Afrin and its vicinity. In this regard, on January 9th and 10th, our forces carried out a series of effective operations against the jihadists. 

On January 9th, our forces carried out 2 sniper operations against a group of jihadists in Mare. At least 1 jihadist was killed as a result and 1 was injured. 

On the same date, our forces carried out an operation against the base of Turkish-backed jihadists in Jilbire village of the Sherawa district. As a result, 1 jihadist from the Jabha al-Shamiyya gang was killed and a further 1 jihadist and 1 soldier were injured. 

On January 10th, our forces carried out 3 effective operations. The results of these are as follows;

3 Turkish-backed jihadists from the Jabha al-Shamiyya gang were injured in Vila Qadi of the Shera district.

In Meydanke village of the Shera district, our forces carried out an operation where they infiltrated the base of the Faylaq al-Sham gang. As a result, 1 jihadist was killled and a further 2 were injured. 

As a result of the operation on the road in Hajika village of the Rajo district, one jihadist by the name Mohammed Kean of the Firqat al-Hamza was killed."
