German doctors visit Shehba camps

A delegation from the International Emergency Aid organization examined the situation of the refugees from Afrin in the Shehba canton.

A delegation from the International Emergency Aid visited Shehba canton and observed the situation of refugees from Afrin in camps and half-destroyed houses.

The delegation met with Ekrem Nesan, the head of the organization, and Dr. Frank Schulze and vascular professor Borgan Scheblow.

The delegation visited the Resistance Camp in Fafin district and the half-destroyed houses in which Afrin refugees live.

Organization President Ekrem Nesan stated that the purpose of their visit was to deliver the aid collected in Germany to refugees and earthquake victims. Nesan said the donations were collected by organizations such as the Mesopotamia Children's Association and the Kurdish Doctors Group in Germany.

Nesan stated that some of the aid will be provided in the next two months.

Drawing attention to the embargo imposed by the Damascus government on Shehba, Nesan said: "We arrived in the besieged canton two days ago and saw how the canton had been destroyed in the war. The Damascus government imposes an embargo and does not allow aid to get through."

Pointing to Heyva Sor a Kurd's role in providing assistance in difficult situations, Nesan said that they will share the situation they found in the canton once they get back to Germany to collect aid for refugees from Afrin.

The delegation is expected to visit health and service organizations in the region.
