Turkey is escalating military violence against the autonomous region of northern and eastern Syria, claiming more lives every day.
The Girê Spî (Tal Abyad) Canton Council made a statement denouncing the increasingly ongoing attacks of the Turkish state against North-East Syria.
The Girê Spî Canton Council Deputy Co-Chair Hezaa Mihemed read out the press statement to the accompaniment of NGO and committee members and residents.
Pointing out that the latest wave of Turkish attacks has targeted hospitals, schools, water and electricity stations, the council noted that targeted attacks against substructures constituted a crime as per international laws.
Denouncing the Turkish state’s threats against the safety of the region and attempts to displace the local people, the statement said that Turkey took advantage of the silence of the international powers and Russia.
The council called on international powers and Russia to fulfil their responsibilities against the escalated attacks of the Turkish regime.
