Staff members of a health centre in Serêkaniyê (Ras al-Ain), which is operated by WJAR (Foundation of the Free Women in Rojava), call for solidarity. They had to flee from the Turkish occupation and now work in Hesekê, Qamishlo and other cities. They provide service for women and children who have been displaced by the Turkish state's genocidal campaign against their lands.

A video message of the women, published with German subtitles, says the following;

“Our health centre is small and lacks many things, especially medicine and medical control equipment. We call on all women of the world to support us. Here we help women and children but we need your support so we can provide more help to them.

I am from Serekaniye and was in the management of the Ari Women’s Health Center in Serekaniye. The center has been operating in Serekaniye for four years. There we provided medical treatment for women and children. Our team consists of doctors and medical staff. We had patients from Serekaniye and from the villages in the surrounding area. We examined them and provided them with the medicine they needed. The examination, treatment and medicine were free.

When the Turkish state began its bombardment of the city, the residents were forced to flee. When the Turkish state attacked indiscriminately, they targeted children, women or military bases. They recklessly bombed everything, forcing the people to leave their homes. We ourselves came to Heseke and arranged a new centre here. We continue our work for women and children here.

There are many needs, as it is cold now and people stayed outside for a long time before they eventually found a place to stay. Some of them still live out on the street, while some others have been settled in schools or homes of others.

In terms of medical supplies, we primarily need medicine and uninterruptible power supply. We want to develop our centre to be able to answer the needs of the people. We have only limited possibilities. For this reason, we call on the international community to support us so we can help the displaced people in need here. In line with the opportunities, we will take care of women and children in the first place.

We call upon primarily the women in Europe and the cities here to support us as we can help the IDPs if are offered support by your side.”
