Hecîn Regional Hospital to be opened soon

Repair work in Hecîn Regional Hospital is over. The hospital will be opened in the coming days.

The efforts to restore Hecîn Regional Hospital, initiated by the Autonomous Administration on 12 October 2020, are coming to an end. The public regional hospital, which will ease the burden of the people in the region economically, is an important step for health and the people of the region.

According to the Jazira government, which provided health equipment to Hecîn Hospital, the facility was equipped with the most advanced health machines in 2002.

Hecîn Regional Hospital, which is the second largest hospital after the Fırat Regional Hospital in Abu Hemam, will serve 350,000 people. The area of ​​the hospital consists of 1,500 meters.

Meryem El-Ewad, a member of the Health Committee of the villages to the east of Deir ez-Zor, told ANHA about the restoration works carried out. El-Ewad said that the restoration works started on 12 October 2020 and lasted 160 days.

El-Ewad said that the hospital was first cleaned of debris after the war and added that this work was carried out by a special team. The damaged parts of the hospital were demolished and rebuilt. "After that, works on sewerage and water networks, electricity stations, fire extinguishing, heating and cooling system networks, gas and electronic networks were carried out."

There are difficulties, El-Ewad said, adding that “the construction materials in particular reached us very late. Due to coronavirus, the work to repair the hospital was delayed. But we completed the work on 10 May. The hospital is now ready and it is waiting for medical supplies and nurse staff, after which will be put into service."
