The North and East Syria Internal Security Forces said that “the allegations indicating an airstrike as the cause for the explosion in Hesekê is unrealistic".
The North and East Syria Internal Security Forces issued a written statement regarding the explosion in the army depot in the neighbourhood of Micercai in the city of Hesekê last night.
The statement said: “On the evening of 15 July 2020, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) reported an explosion in a weapons and explosives storage. In the depot is ammunition seized from ISIS terrorists. The explosion was caused by an electrical contact, and only material damage occurred in the incident. We declare to the public opinion that such unrealistic claims [such as an airstrike] are intended to cause confusion and threaten regional security.”
