Three martyrs from the resistance against the ISIS attack on the Sinaa prison in Hesekê on 20 January have been buried in Til Temir. In the course of the attempted storming of the detention centre by ISIS members who had infiltrated into the city from the Turkish occupation zone and Iraq, more than a hundred people were killed, including 77 security forces and employees of the prison as well as 45 fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Mass funerals have been taking place in northern Syria for days.
The martyrs from Til Temir are Diyaudîn Îbrahîm, Silêman Emîn and Ebid El-Cuma. Their funeral was attended by thousands of people. Before the funeral, speeches were made on behalf of the Council of the Martyrs’ Families and the SDF, emphasising the common struggle of the peoples in north-eastern Syria.
Relatives also gave speeches in which they vowed to continue the resistance against the attacks of Turkey and ISIS. After the speeches, the certificates of the martyrs were read out and presented to the families. Afterwards, Diyaudîn Îbrahîm, Silêman Emîn and Ebid El-Cuma were laid to rest.
