Hesen Qamishlo: The attacks will not hinder us
Operation Cizire Storm nears its end and neither the threats of the Ba'ath regime nor the attacks by the ISIS are an obstacle, a prominent commander of Syrian Defence Forces says.
Operation Cizire Storm nears its end and neither the threats of the Ba'ath regime nor the attacks by the ISIS are an obstacle, a prominent commander of Syrian Defence Forces says.
Speaking to ANHA News Agency SDF commander Hesen Qasmishlo reported that ISIS is now using its last breath for trying to stop the offensive, mainly with the help of bomb-laden vehicles in Deir ez-Zor governate.
The last group of ISIS gangs are now trapped in the border region between Iraq and Syria, most of them in east and north-east of Deir ez-Zor.
Qamişlo said that SDF and Iraqi army set up a joint command centre over the border.
"In the war against the ISIS we are ready to make all sorts of connections. We have built relationships with many parties, and the Iraqi army is one of them. Our goal is to defend the border. We also set up a joint command centre with the Russian forces to fight ISIS" Qamishlo said.
The offensive would continue until the region is completely liberated, Hesen Qamishlo added.
About the simultaneous attacks of the Baath regime and the ISIS against SDF, Qamişlo said: "These attacks will not divert us from our goal. All attacks have failed so far."
