Heyva Sor opens Covid hospital in Shehba

The hospital, which consists of 16 rooms and 3 units, has a Laboratory Unit, breathing rooms consisting of 6 units, separate treatment units for women and men, an emergency response unit, a disinfection room and an isolation department.

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria took a series of measures to counter the coronavirus (COVID-19) cases which started to be detected in the region.

Important decisions were taken against the epidemic in addition to the curfew by the health committee and Heyva Sor a Kurd.

Taking action after the detection of daily cases in the Shehba Canton, Heyva Sor a Kurd opened a COVID-19 hospital with its own resources. The hospital, which consists of 16 rooms and 3 units, has a Laboratory Unit, breathing rooms consisting of 6 units, separate treatment units for women and men, an emergency response unit, a disinfection room and an isolation department. The hospital also has a PCR device for coronavirus testing.

Despite shortages, work goes on

24 health workers work in the hospital. Mahmûd Seydo, from the hospital staff, called on the International Health Organization (WHO) to respond to the emergency being developed in North East Syria.

Bekir Elo, a member of the Afrin Region Executive Council and Pandemic Crisis Desk, issued a call to the people through ANHA to take the necessary measures against the pandemic.

Pointing out that there have already been people who lost their lives due to the virus in Shehba Canton and that an increase in the number of cases was observed, Elo asked the people to comply with the curfew and to comply with the precautionary decisions of the health board.
