HRE reported that 11 Turkey-backed mercenaries and 3 Turkish soldiers were killed during a latest action against the Turkish forces and mercenaries in a village of occupied Afrin.
Afrin Liberation Forces (HRE) released the details of an assault carried out on May 19 against a base of the Turkish army and its mercenaries in the occupied Afrin region.
The HRE statement includes the following:
"Our forces carried out a large-scale raid on a base of invading mercenaries in the village of Basûfanê in Afrin on May 19. The operation took place around 01:00 at night. While four mercenaries were killed, and two others were injured and run away, our forces took control of the base in about 15 minutes. In the ensuing clashes, four more mercenaries were killed, and one other was injured. One DShK weapon was also struck and damaged.
As the Turkish army started an operation in the vicinity of the village in the morning, a sabotage action was carried out by our fighters. While a military vehicle was destroyed, three soldiers of the Turkish army and one mercenary were killed. As Turkish army forces came to the scene to retrieve the casualties at around 10 am, another sabotage action was carried out by our fighters, leaving two mercenaries dead and a motorcycle unusable.
Following our actions, the occupying forces bombed the surrounding areas of the base and villages in Sherawa and Shehba regions with reconnaissance aircraft.
A total of 11 mercenaries and three Turkish soldiers were killed in our actions, while at least three mercenaries were injured. Furthermore, one military vehicle, one motorcycle, one DShK weapon, one thermal camera, one binocular and one radio were rendered unusable. One BKC, three AK-47s, one night vision glasses, one radio and three cell phones were seized.
These actions were carried out in retaliation for the Turkish state attacks that targeted our people last month."
