HRE fighter Dilşêr Efrîn has been buried at the Martyrs’ Cemetery in the self-ruled region of Shehba.
Dilşêr Efrîn (Ferhad Nasan), a fighter of the Afrin Liberation Forces (Hêzên Rizgariya Efrînê, HRE), was laid to rest in the cemetery of the martyrs of the Afrin resistance in the self-governing canton of Shehba with great sympathy. Local residents accompanied the HRE fighter to the cemetery in Ehrez district.
"Resistance until Afrin is liberated"
Many people took part in the burial ceremony at the cemetery. Xedice Ibo from the Afrin Council of Martyrs’ Families stated in her speech, "Our young people have shown with their resistance that they will fight against the Turkish state until the end. We have shown the world that we will resist until Afrin is liberated."
"Thousands of documented crimes in Afrin "
Fatme Lekto, co-chair of the Afrin Economy Committee, said, "The policy that the Turkish government is pursuing against the people of Afrin is called special war. It is a big war. On the one hand, the region is under the embargo of the regime in Damascus, and on the other hand, the artillery shelling by the Turkish army continues. People like Abdulhakim Bashar (ENKS) claim that no crimes are taking place in Afrin. But there are thousands of documented crimes in Afrin."
Ali Selame from the Shehba Region Council reported on the daily bombardment of the region by the Turkish occupation forces and announced that the resistance would continue despite all this. Zêneb Ebdo then recited Dilşêr Efrîn's personal details and handed over the family's memorial document.
At the end of the ceremony, Şehîd Dilşêr Efrîn was laid to rest amid slogans.
Three years of struggle against occupation
When Turkey and its proxy militias occupied Afrin in March 2018, it thought it had an easy ride. Much of the population had been displaced or forced to flee by marauding mercenary forces in the aftermath. But the HRE put up fierce resistance from day one. This guerrilla war against the occupation continues to this day. In their record for the first half of 2021, the HRE reported 67 actions in which at least 31 Turkish soldiers, including a commander-in-chief, were killed and 27 others wounded. In addition, two MIT operatives were killed and two others were injured. A member of the Turkish Army personnel was also killed. In addition, 79 mercenaries, including two commanders, were killed and 83 were wounded.
