For more than 50 days, the people of Afrin have been resisting the war of aggression of the Turkish state in violation of international law. Against the fighter jets and heavy weaponry, which is technologically up to date, people rely on their willpower. Everything focuses on the victory against the occupying power.  

People greet each other with the victory sign. Everywhere on the streets, at funerals and other occasions, the slogan "Serkeftin, serkeftin, serkeftin karê me ye" (Victory is our goal) is chanted, symbolizing the absolute will to win.
