Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched an operation against Hajin on September 10 as the final phase of the Operation Cizire (Jazira) Storm. SDF forces have entered Hajin town a week ago.
SDF fighters have advanced rapidly, and are now engaged in intense clashes in the streets with ISIS gangs.
According to SDF sources, the clashes intensified starting from this morning. The gangs are resorting to frequent suicide attacks to stop the SDF’s advance.
There have been two suicide attacks since the morning, and the gang members were killed before they reached their target in both instances. An explosive laden vehicle was noticed early and destroyed.
SDF is both clashing with the gangs and rescuing civilians to take them to safe areas. Over 500 civilians have been rescued from gangs in the Suse, Secle and Baxox line in Deir ez-Zor.
