Internal security forces defuse bomb near Deir ez-Zor

Internal security forces have been able to defuse a bomb in the municipality of Diban near Deir ez-Zor, thereby preventing a suspected ISIS attack.

With the help of vigilant residents, the internal security forces were able to prevent a suspected ISIS attack in the eastern Syrian region of Deir ez-Zor.

Local residents had discovered an unknown object on the main road of the municipality of Diban in the south-east of Deir ez-Zor. A defusing team determined that it was an object equipped with 15 kilograms of explosives and remote detonators. They managed to defuse the bomb without casualties.

As early as 6 February, an ISIS attack in Hajin was prevented by neutralizing an Islamic State cell. Two suspected suicide bombers were arrested. Both men wore explosive vests. Various weapons, numerous ammunition and mobile phones were also seized during the operation of the Hajin Military Council security forces.
