Internal Security Forces publish names of 4 fighters martyred in 'Security Reinforcement' operation

The Internal Security Forces published the identities of 4 fighters who fell as martyrs in the ‘Security Reinforcement’ operation.

The Northern and Eastern Syria Internal Security Forces General Press Center published the identities of 4 fighters who fell as martyrs between 31 August and 1 September in the ‘Security Reinforcement’ operation launched by the SDF in Deir ez-Zor.

The statement said: "3 members of our forces' operational unit and one member of HAT fell as martyrs to defend their lands and people. All four martyrs took part in the 'Security Reinforcement' Operation and were killed on 31 August and 1 September, resisting against the terrorists until the end."

Background

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched "Operation Security Reinforcement" against ISIS cells in Deir ez-Zor region late on 27 August night. The offensive launched in cooperation with the international anti-ISIS coalition aims to track down and root out terror cells in order to stop potential attacks. The background is an increase in ISIS attacks against the civilian population, security personnel and local government employees. The operation is also directed against organised crime and smuggling networks. The area of operation includes areas east of the Euphrates, but primarily the Deir ez-Zor region in eastern Syria.
