An international humanitarian aid convoy has entered the quake-hit Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah neighbourhoods of Aleppo.
9 international aid trucks have entered the self-governing neighbourhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud (Şêxmeqsûd) and Ashrafiyah (Eşrefiye) in Aleppo, reported ANHA on Monday.
The aid trucks have arrived in both neighbourhoods through the Awarid checkpoint, controlled by the 4th Brigade of the Damascus government. The trucks unloaded aid materials in front of the Afrin Hall in the Shiqeyf district.
The Aid Committee of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah neighbourhoods stated that it would start distribution of aid materials which include blankets, quilts, tents, children's clothing, kitchenware.
The committee added that it would publish a list of earthquake victims and would start distribution of the aid next week in cooperation with the communes.
On February 13, the General Assembly of the two neighbourhoods published a report that revealed the basic needs of the residents of the neighbourhoods affected by the earthquake.
The Aid Committee said that the Syrian Red Crescent had promised to dispatch 21 aid trucks to the area. Several states delivered humanitarian aid to support the earthquake victims.
In the meantime, the Damascus government has not allowed the humanitarian aid convoy of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria to enter both neighbourhoods since February 11.
