The operation resulted in the capture of the terrorist Ahmed Mahmoud al-Qarsha, aka Abu Muadh al-Kurdi, a high-ranking member of the ISIS terrorist organization specializing in IED engineering.

In a statement about the operation, SDF Media Center said: “Interrogation revealed that al-Qarsha confessed to his involvement in constructing and arming the vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) used in a suicide attack against one of our SDF positions in Al-Shuhail, eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, on May 10, 2024, which resulted in the martyrdom of three of our fighters and the wounding of seven others.”

“Based on al-Qarsha’s confession, our MOT forces subsequently captured ten additional terrorists linked to an ISIS cell and responsible for multiple terrorist attacks, including the attack mentioned earlier in Al-Shuhail.
