The house in the village of Elpelûr, near Kobanê, where Abdullah Öcalan stayed for a while after passing from North Kurdistan to Rojava, was targeted by the invading Turkish army a few days ago. The Kurdish people reacted with indignation to the attack.
Jazira Martyrs' Families Assembly co-chair, Hesen Ebid, told ANHA news agency that the attack was actually aimed at hitting the values of the Kurdish people. Saying that the house where Leader Öcalan stayed for a while is a sacred place for the Kurdish people, Ebid added: “The Turkish state is doing everything in its power to destroy the gains of the people of the region. Attacks on the sacred values of the Kurdish people are a part of these plans. It is for fear of our gains and values that the Turkish state is carrying out these attacks.”
Ebid emphasized that no attack will prevent the Kurdish people from fighting. Stating that no power can achieve in moving the people of North and East Syria away from Öcalan's philosophy, Ebid continued: "The attack on Abdullah Öcalan's house is a continuation of the international conspiracy [which led to his arrest on 15 February 1999]. Democratic projects that serve all peoples are tried to be destroyed by this conspiracy. However, rest assured that the people of Northern and Eastern Syria will void all kinds of conspiracies.”
