Jazira Yazidi House condemns the KDP's attempt to enter Shengal

The Jazira Yazidi House condemned the KDP's stance in a statement about its attempt to enter Shengal under the pretext of the elections.

Forces affiliated with the KDP tried to enter Shengal saying that they wanted to make propaganda for the candidates who will enter the elections on 2 and 3 October. The Yazidis living in Shengal reacted harshly to this initiative of the KDP and did not allow them to enter Shengal. Making a statement after the incident, the Shengal Autonomous Administration said that if the KDP attacked the people, this attack would not go unanswered.

The Yazidi House in the Jazira region also condemned the KDP in its statement regarding the attempt by the KDP to enter the region of Shengal.

The statement was made in front of the Qezalçoxê Yazidi House in Amûdê. The statement read by Ilyas Seydo said: “As the Iraqi Parliamentary elections approach, everyone's true face is exposed once again. Those who have not been to Shengal before and do not care about the situation of Shengal people are trying to show off today. They want to destroy the people of Shengal by going beyond the borders they have drawn for Shengal. The interesting thing is that those who wanted to go to Shengal were saying that Shengal was not a safe place just a little time ago. Now they are trying to enter Shengal to get an extra seat. Everyone should accept that Shengal is ruled by an autonomous administration which has nothing against the federal structure of Iraq. Those who could not enter Shengal are saying that they were prevented from entering by the PKK. This is an excuse used to hide their weaknesses. Shengal has willpower. It is the safe land of Yazidis. Those who try to distort the truth must stop doing this.”
