Rojava's July 19 Revolution has been celebrated in a mass rally in Cizîrê Canton with the slogan "The Rojava Revolution is the dignity and freedom of peoples".
Masses gathered in Antariyah neighborhood of Qamishlo to join the celebration marking the 5th anniversary of the Rojava Revolution which began with a minute of silence for the fallen, and continued with a speech of Foza Yusuf, Executive Council Co-chair of the Democratic Federation of Northern Syria.
Yusuf started with congratulating the people for the Rojava Revolution, and said, "5 years have passed since the Revolution of Rojava took its course and rose to a beacon of hope for the whole humanity."
Regarding the attacks of the Turkish state against Efrîn and Shehba, Yusuf said: "Efrîn is not on its own. Efrîn is the beat of the heart of all four parts of Kurdistan, and will not be less than Kobanê which turned into a fortress for humanity with its historical resistance. Efrîn will mount a resistance against enemies of mankind and will never bow down to anyone."
Speaking after, Cizîrê Canton Executive Council Vice President Hisên Ezam said: "The declaration of Democratic Autonomy in Cizîrê, Kobanê and Efrîn followed the beginning of the July 19 Revolution. This Revolution of Rojava is the expression of reaction towards all systems that prohibit a democratic and peaceful life to the peoples of the region, and it achieved great results. For this reason we need to protect the gains of the Rojava Revolution."
Defense Council Vice President Ebdulmesîh Hena spoke on behalf of the Syriac people and said, "The Syrian Revolution was derailed from the moment regional and international states meddled into the uprising and infiltrated it with armed groups used for their own interests. But in contrast to that, the Rojava Revolution based on a 'third path' for the free will of the region's peoples, and declared Democratic Autonomy."
Hena concluded his speech as follows, "The project of Democratic Autonomous Administration has been realized undeniably by the common sacrifice of Arab, Kurdish and Syriac martyrs, and achieved major gains."
The celebration ended with slogans which saluted and congratulated the Revolution of Rojava.
