Kobane people march to support guerrilla resistance against Turkey’s attacks

In Kobane, a march was staged in solidarity with the guerrilla resistance against the Turkish state’s invasion attacks on Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

Kobane District Council organised a march participated by representatives of Kurdish political parties and members of civil and military institutions in order to express support for the guerrilla resistance against Turkey’s invasion attacks. During the march, the activists displayed posters of Kurdish Leader Abdullah Öcalan and banners reading “Bazên Zagrosê Revolutionary Offensive and Xabur Battle will succeed with the spirit of Gare” and “Long Live the resistance of three freedom fighters”.

The march was followed by a demonstration at the Peace Square where Osman Ismail addressed the crowd on behalf of Kobane District Council, saying the following, “The Turkish state dreams of reviving the Ottoman era. To this end, it intends to smash and invade the Middle East. Everyone must be aware of the fact that the Turkish state will not withdraw from the territories it has occupied.”

Stressing the guerrilla’s historic resistance against invasion in the region, Ismail recalled the guerrilla’s support for the defeat of ISIS in Kobane.

Ismail lastly said, “We must trust in guerrilla forces and stand with them.”
