Kongra Star Coordination calls on all democratic forces to work to ensure Öcalan freedom

In a statement released on the occasion of the anniversary of the international conspiracy which led to the capture of Öcalan on 15 February 1999, Kongra Star Coordination called on all democratic forces to continue to work to ensure his freedom.

In a statement about the international conspiracy which led to the capture of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan on 15 February 1999, Kongra Star Coordination condemned the isolation in which Öcalan has been held since and stated that the states involved in the conspiracy stood on the suffering of the peoples.

Kongr Star said that those states are trying to destroy Abdullah Öcalan and the Kurdish people with absolute isolation, but added that "these forces were defeated by the ideas and philosophy of Leader Abdullah Öcalan and therefore are now putting new plans into action against the Kurds."

The statement added that "the aim of the invading Turkish state's attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria is to destroy the free will of the peoples in the region."

Noting that the Kurds and the peoples of the Middle East will also be liberated once Abdullah Öcalan's freedom is achieved, Kongra Star called on the democracy forces and civil society organizations all over the world to continue to work to ensure his freedom.
